Well, after all the excitement of Radipole I went for a quiet walk alongside the Reed beds at Lodmoor spending about 3/4 hour there before heading home. I’m pleased I did as there was certainly more bird life around and nice and close to take photos.

The stars for me were the Common Snipe showing well there were a few about with a group of six which are sometimes called a wisp, they were on a small island while  some were wading, I never seen so many at a time.

There were also many Lapwings populating the small islands in the distance and luckily a couple were close by,  enough to take images, such beautiful birds and interesting characters. Quite a few ducks about, Teal, Mallards Plus Canada geese, Moorhens, Gulls a Heron and many more. There were also a few Black Tailed Godwits, again close so I could easily watch and photograph them. 

A short visit but worth it!
