In 1790 the tenant holdings on the manor estate were re organized because of the Enclosure Act, a series of laws which divided common land, redistributed plots and required farmers to build a fence around their lands. Northbrook Farm was the first purpose-built ring-fenced farm in the parish. In 1830 Northbrook Farm was 360 Acres.

1839 Kent Farm was 330 Acres. Caerphilly cheese was produced on Kent Farm in the 1930s. Kent Farm was the original mill site in Shapwick.
