About Us
Here is a little more about our family here in North Dorset, Rod myself Marilyn and our hounds.
Rod has been retired now for a few years but still manages to keep himself busy. He is now in the process of restoring a 1930’s caravan and a Series 1 Landrover (1957). Both are in progress at this time.
He bought the caravan some years ago as a project but was unable to start working on it for some while owing to our house move and then renovating the house we now live in and other family commitments. The caravan was stored at my parent's house for some years but then a couple of years ago we brought it home and now sits in our driveway. He started the restoration about 2 years ago and at present it has been under cover for most of the winter. He is working on the body and having to work outside means he needs settled weather, as it is such a performance to cover up each time, especially in our driveway which seems to have a permanent gale blowing up it! Unfortunatley my dad passed away last summer, so most of the better weather was spent sorting his effects, a sad time.
The Landrover was bought last year to pull the caravan. We sold our Toyata Surf a while back as it was getting very expensive to run and because the caravan is quite chunky we need something with power enough to pull the caravan so Rod has been working on the Landrover. The Landrover needs alot of TLC so he has stripped it down to the bare chassis and so it will be a total rebuild. He is now in the process of putting it all back together!
I will add a few of the photos of the restorations so far as soon as I get some time, so keep looking!
