Welcome to the geneaology blog for the Meaker, Poole, Peddle and connected families.
We hope to use this diary/blog to keep you informed on what’s happening with the family research, while adding snippets of information that may be of interest to anyone researching their family history. We would be pleased to hear from anyone with information on our families and of course if we can help we will!
Take a look at The Team who will be contributing to our geneaology blog.
We will add relevant useful website links for research as we come across them.

Since sending out a copy of Gooseberry Bush to various Meakers, I have been inundated with more Meaker history and contacts. I will be working on them as I have time. Please be patient those awaiting results.

Christine has just made available for this website a copy of her family Newsletter “From Under the Gooseberry Bush”. This is her fourth newsletter which she sends out early in the new year.
You can see the latest one and previous newsletters linking from the Meaker pages on this website.

I am currently working on the Moss/Mealing line from Gloucester. They are Dad’s (Henry Meaker) maternal grandparents. Bogged down with numerous Mosses in that area. I have found one Moss brother was a cabinet maker and moved to Bucks in the mid 19th Century - could it be he came in contact with Rod’s family the Peddle’s?!!

I have added a couple of links in this blogĀ of information on furniture making in High Wycombe, Bucks, England. They are listed on the right under the heading of Peddles.
